I gotta exorcise your spirit, keep me whole
I'm gonna go downtown tomorrow
And ship your spirit yonder
I gotta exorcise your spirit from my soul

GENERAL
Name: Clarence Augustine
Nickname: Nessie
Birth date: March 19, 1978
Age: 35 years.
Species: Human
Gender/Pronouns: Female.
APPEARANCE
Nessie is rather short but with an average build. She has olive skin and clear, brown eyes. She likes to describe her hair as a reddish black, but really it’s just dark brown. She has an anti-possession-tattoo at the back of her neck, just where the neck becomes back.
When she and her brother started out on their hunter life, they made sure to pick cool clothes to go with it. Nowadays she has dropped the spikes and the camouflage jacket, but she still keeps her style moderately interesting. She usually wears ordinary jeans and a tank top, and she has a hip-bag for storing necessities. To cover the bag and her gun she wears a long black coat, decorated with unnecessary folds and details.

PERSONALITY
Nessie is caring, but only about the people close to her. She is protective about anyone younger: loosing her little brother made her lash out to feel protective of all less experienced hunters. She doesn’t mind company, but she mainly works alone, unless she comes across something she can’t take down by herself. Short and kind-looking, she doesn’t really inspire fear in people. But she can raise her voice well when she needs to, and when she speaks confidently, in her “big sister”-voice, she can intimidate anyone who come in the way of her rants. She is determined that people should treat her with respect, no matter how much stronger or taller they are.
She is dedicated to her hunting life, but she is prone to give monsters a chance; if she comes across one that isn’t actually killing people, she will only make sure they knows to keep it that way, and then let them be on their way.
She is naturally sceptic to new things, and it took her much longer than her brother to accept what they were seeing. When she learnt about the supernatural, Nessie had a hard time accepting the existence of humanoid monsters in the world. It became easier, however, when she realised they all originated from humans, some by being genetic mutations, such as shape shifters, some infected with something, such as vampires, and some manipulated after death, like demons and ghosts. When coming across a new monster she will go through all available lore to figure out how it was once human. Some lore speaks of creatures that aren’t – these are quickly sorted as nonexistent. Angels, for example, can’t possibly be real.
Since she moved straight from university studies to hunting, she has kept much of her scientific approach when hunting. She will keep tabs on what she kills, where, and how, and she writes it all down as thoroughly as she can. If she has a lot of time on her hands she forms theories on alternate hunting techniques and field-test them when she has the chance. One example is that she uses iron chains instead of salt to secure areas against ghosts. At the moment she is experimenting on the protective aspects of cedar when fighting werewolves: she has a hypothesis that it might reduce the wolfness and calm the werewolf enough for the human to regain control. But it’s just a theory. There’s not an awful lot of werewolves around to try it on.
HISTORY
Nessie got into hunting along with her brother Jacob, when an aunt became possessed by a demon and their eyes were opened to the supernatural. They were both very curious about this new magical world; at the time, Nessie was studying to become a biologist, and Jacob had just graduated college and was ready to go out in the world – but none of them thought “going out in the world” would mean leaving everything behind to go hunting monsters.
A
After hunting together for a couple of years, they came across a demon. A different individual from the one that possessed their aunt, no doubt, but it was the second one they had ever come across, and they wanted to kill it. But things went wrong. While trying to catch it in a devil's trap, it possessed Jacob. The demon, in Jacob’s body, escaped and had enough time to kill a number of people and burn down a small town before Nessie could catch up with it. By then, the people it had been attacking had tried to fight back, and caused serious damage to the body. The demon smoked out, leaving her brother to die before she got a chance to speak to him again.
After that hunting stopped being an occupation for Nessie, it became her life. She didn’t go after the demon – she didn’t know anything about it other than its species being demon. So she just makes sure to kill every demon she sees, certain she will get it one day or another.
EXTRA:
Nessie makes most of her regular income of poker. She’s not a pro in any way, but over the year she has perfected her talents. When she’s lucky it’s an efficient way to get cash, and when she’s not, well, it’s not cheating if it’s for a good cause, ne?
Possessions: Her weapon of choice is a small handgun. She also carries with her a thin iron chain, as it works just as good as salt against ghosts, and can’t be blown away by a simple draft.
Notable Family/Relations: Her brother Jacob was her most important contact, but after his passing she has made some contacts within the community. Since she spend her “free” time reading up on monsters and ways to fight them, there are a lot of people who will contact her for advice. She will gladly give them her latest findings, provided they check back to her and tell her how the hunt went, so she can log the new information.
She has developed a friendship with a young hunter named Ronni Winters, and will often call to make sure she is doing alright.
