personality data
Kheisa displays at most times a friendly front, or, at worst, a forcibly amiable, if slightly awkward, silence. Her natural instinct seems to be to befriend even the most threatening of creatures, which is terribly to her deficit when it comes to creatures like demons and monsters so far removed from humanity as to not even consider friendship an option. Her advantage in these cases comes from her ability to force a character, to take on certain disposable personality characteristics until they no longer become necessary and then discard them. She has varying degrees of success with this technique, but has help in the form of her daemon, who will often in these processes take the forms of animals or creatures that forcibly remind her the character she is playing.
As a result of this, it can be somewhat difficult to know the "real" Kheisa, especially meeting her on hunting terms. It's not that she puts up walls (far from it; for a hunter-- for, for that matter, a daemian involved intimately with the initial release of Cerberus-- she's awfully bad about holding back her habit of honest oversharing), but that once she's compartmentalized into a character, she can seem to embody traits that don't normally apply to her; loudly social, hierarchical, ambitious, overconfident, competitive, even clumsy or sporty.
In reality, Kheisa is slightly airheaded and has difficulty focusing and self-motivating (some undiagnosed fog in her brain, who knows what-- she pulls double time to think around it when she's playing a character on a case) but makes up for it by being willing and able to help with as much as possible. She's got an air of contentedness about her that would seem rather at-odds with the whole "daemian forced into a world where monsters exist" thing, but somehow it works for her. Her levels of social anxiety have diminished dramatically since the Cerberus incident, because really, after being besieged by an army of demons and hellhounds, how bad can a little socialization be?
She unwinds with art projects, which litter the half of her room that's not lined with lore books and hunting supplies. The entire space, however, is littered with remnants of easy food like meal bars and protein drinks.
history data
Kheisa grew up in North Carolina with cat and dog siblings, in an area just middle-of-nowhere to be considered rural. Somehow managed to get through "magnet schools" for her compulsory education, coming into contact with her daemon for the first time in 2005, and then again, properly, in 2007. 2010's fiasco with Cerberus really tipped her life around, as it did for many daemians at the time-- dog's the daemon, chased by black-eyed people, carjacked, death, undeath, daemon is literally visible and tangible, demons and hellhounds attack, cerberus gets unleashed, just really a tidal wave of uprooting. That in addition to having to subsequently explain to family and friends-- and hell, her school-- why she'd suddenly appeared with her also-presumed-dead dog at home. One big mess. She does not fondly remember the tail end of 2010. Thankfully she graduated high school in May of 2011, and was soon able to put her foot down and come to terms with the new direction her life had taken. Or, well, she was still made to go to college, but she ended up local, able to come home quickly in case of an emergency. At least she had the summer to come to terms with the daemonic monstrous life change before having to come to terms with the transition to college.
Since then, much of her history is unremarkable; she's swapped out much of her room's useless knick-knackery for knick-knacks of the useful sort, boxed up and attic'd all her childhood books, most of her clothes, etc, to make room for the things she needs for research and hunting: knives, guns, ammo, books upon books upon books, and various ingredients for spells. Needless to say, visiting relatives no longer have the privilege of entering her bedroom.
Starting the tail end of 2012, Kheisa has been on leave of absence from her college to focus on hunting. Not that her college knows the truth.
misc
POSSESSIONS: cell phone, laptop, a journal with her notes on monsterkind and how to deal with them
NOTABLE FAMILY/RELATIONS: parents, perhaps unwisely allowing her to remain in indefinite residence in their house while doing the hunting gig. they fund many of her trips and have been taught basic defense against the most likely types of supernatural beings they'll encounter. are considering daemonic separation but have thus far done nothing to further that, because it seems unnecessary for them as of yet. keeps in touch with con-friends and a few high school friends, primarily online.
OTHER: has assumed the function of Bobby Singer especially since his death, as well as keeping tabs on the whereabouts of other daemians and hunters via cell phone GPS tracking, a trick she learned from a hunter she worked with once on a local poltergeist case.
